“The Word is My Life” Training Ministry emphasizes the power of God’s Word and its ability to transform lives. Focusing on Christian education and training, “The Word is My Life” has been on the move since its inception.

The initial work was the self-publishing of 23 encouragement guidebooks for those seeking Biblical answers to life’s challenges. The most popular guidebook in the series is “Encouragement for Your Future”. Iris Barrett continues to develop training materials for public speaking engagements and training seminars. The most popular seminar topics address leadership development and finding the purpose for your life.

The training ministry has expanded by providing one-on-one Biblical encouragement counseling for individuals and groups. As life concerns and problems are presented, Iris Barrett encourages by sharing and explaining scriptures that directly address the problem. She also prays, targeting the area of need. The counselee leaves with hope derived from the Word of God and prayer and is expected to continue the journey toward wholeness by meditating on and praying the scriptures provided. Prayer ministry is a key strength of “The Word is My Life” Training Ministry.

Encouragement sessions for women are held weekly to encourage women to grow in their faith, knowledge of the Word, and prayer.

A new area of ministry being pursued is church auxiliary organization and development. Iris Barrett is gifted in the area of administration and has an extensive background in organizational development. Using skills in administration, leadership and team development, Biblical instruction from the Word, and prayer, Iris Barrett is able to train, organize, and mobilize church and ministry auxiliaries to excellence in action.
